Gradska Luka (43°30′·2N 16°26′·4E) is on the N side of Splitski Kanal. Split (43°31′N 16°26′E) is one of the largest commercial harbours of Croatia and the largest on the Dalmatian coast. The city of Split, which lies N and NE of Gradska Luka, with several suburbs in the vicinity, is the capital of a department and an important commercial centre. Anchorages may be obtained W of a line in 7 to 9 m mud and shells. There is little room for small vessels. Coasters lie inside Gat Sveta Nikole.
